it's not just a tattoo, it's a work of art.

My name is Marco Prado and I’m an artist in Baltimore City. You could say art is in my blood as I was heavily influenced by my artist father. Growing up watching him paint gave me the passion and fundamentals that would help me develop my own style. I began my artistic path by creating abstracts and sketching still lifes, but along the way my focus was drawn to Pop/Fan Art. I love making imagery that grabs people’s attention and hits them in that nostalgic sweet spot. It’s such a rewarding part of the genre. Fandom is universal from one subject to another, and speaks to all of us. For instance, my favorite subject matter comes from Comics (Batman mostly), Star Wars, Anime, Disney ect. Yes, these topics are broad, to be as inclusive as possible, but the idea is to be specific with that topic so it resonates with who’s looking at it. All of that is just a fancy way of saying, I make the paintings I make for that awesome moment of, “we both know what this is, where it comes from, and why it’s so cool to us.”
