My name is K Marsden and I am a practicing artist. I tattoo, paint, throw clay, work with fibers
and so on. I am the worst kind of artist; I don’t know how to stop dreaming. I seek images in the
marble tiles of my bathroom floor.
My 2-D and 3-D work as of late has focused on the ideas of the physical and mental pressures
and pressures of the female body. I toy with the painful existence of anxiety, depression, and
pressure as it lives and coincides with beauty, perfection, and repetition. These cycles of
everyday torment that can be found in my daily life are echoed in my art practice. The themes
that can found include fertility and freedom alongside anxiety/depression and growth.
I am currently studying Ceramics (with a small concentration in painting and fibers) at Maryland
Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. I tattoo out of Black Lotus Tattoo Gallery in Hanover, MD. Ig @kmarsdentattoos
